Chief Donald Thomas announced today that the Sycamore Police Department is investigating a general threat of violence to occur at the Sycamore High School on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. Police and Sycamore School officials have met to enact preventative measures at the high school.

Retail Theft Charge

On January 14, 2008 Sycamore Police Detectives obtained a warrant for Dale Patton, age 24, of Kirkland IL for the offense of Retail Theft. Patton, a former employee of Amoco Super Pantry was accused of stealing merchandise from his employer in November 2007. The value of the merchandise was $400.

Sycamore Municipal Ordinance: 6-2-7
Parking after Snowfall:
A. Parking Restricted: It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle on any public street or in any city parking lot after a snowfall of two inches (2') or more has occurred unless the snow has been plowed off or otherwise removed from the pavement. (Ord. 2005.78, 1-3-2006)
B. Enforcement: After a two inch (2') snowfall, the police department is hereby authorized to ticket, remove and/or tow away any said vehicle or any other obstruction at the owner's expense; provided, however, if it is an overnight snowfall, there will be no enforcement until seven o'clock (7:00) A.M. (Ord. 2006.48, 11-20-2006)
C. Penalties: Penalty for a violation of this section shall be a fine of twenty dollars ($20.00), and a separate violation shall be deemed committed on each and every day said vehicle or obstruction so remains; provided, however, that a violator may settle said violation by paying a fine of ten dollars ($10.00) if paid within thirty (30) days of the date of said violation. Police Chief Donald Thomas announced this afternoon that a preliminary inquiry revealed that last night's shooting of a Sycamore Police Officer was the result of an accidental firearm discharge by a fellow member of North Central Narcotics Task Force.
